Cooper-Standard Automotive To Host Charity Golf Outing To Support 'Marines Helping Marines'

Novi, Mich., May 25, 2006 - Cooper-Standard Automotive is hosting a charity golf outing to raise funds for 'Marines Helping Marines,' a charity assisting veterans of the military and their families.

The event is being held on Monday, June 19, 2006, at the St. John's Golf and Conference Center in Plymouth, Mich. It is being coordinated by a team of Cooper-Standard Automotive employees and is open to Cooper-Standard employees, customers, suppliers, and guests. The outing will begin with a breakfast at 8:45 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m., and a dinner at the conference center.

"This is the second year that Cooper-Standard will raise money for a charity through our golf outing, and this year we feel strongly that 'Marines Helping Marines' deserves our attention and contribution," said Jim McElya, chief executive officer. "This charity understands how much the brave men and women who serve this country in times of peace and war need our support. 'Marines Helping Marines' have made it their mission to offer these veterans and their families the assistance they need. We are proud to help them continue this effort," he said.

'Marines Helping Marines' is a program created by the Marine Corps League in 2004. The program benefits veterans of all U.S. branches of the military in a wide variety of situations, and also greatly assists veterans' families who require financial assistance to stay with their loved ones at military hospitals or care centers.

"We want to thank Cooper-Standard for its generous support of our efforts to help veterans and their families in their time of need," said John Tuohy, past National Commandant, Marine Corps League. "And, in particular, we want to thank its employees who have put this golf outing together to raise additional funds to ensure the continuation of our cause," said Tuohy.
