Cooper-Standard Automotive Expands Role of Edward Hasler, President and Chief Operating Officer
Novi Michigan, Dec.12, 2007 - Cooper-Standard Automotive announced today that it is further expanding the responsibilities of Edward Hasler, the company's president and chief operating officer (COO). In addition to leading the global activities of the company's operating divisions, Hasler will have oversight responsibility for the company's Human Resource and Information Technology functions. Hasler and his team oversee global operations, which include 78 facilities in 17 countries, with more than 19,000 employees.
Hasler was appointed president and COO in September 2006, a newly created role within Cooper-Standard Automotive. Hasler previously served as president of the company's Global Sealing Division, and prior to that resided in Europe, where he was in charge of the company's International Division.
"Ed has done a terrific job leading Cooper-Standard's global operations to consistently strong performance in a challenging environment," stated Jim McElya, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Cooper-Standard Automotive. "These new responsibilities will enable Ed to further evolve Cooper-Standard's Operational Excellence initiatives and strengthen the company's global leadership position. The move also represents another important step in the company's ongoing succession planning."
Hasler continues to report to Jim McElya, chairman and CEO. Both executives, along with the company's corporate staff, are based at Cooper-Standard's Global Headquarters in Novi, Mich.
